Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 and when graves are laid open, 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble recorders, 11 They know all that you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
