1/4 Hizb 31

And they ask you about Dhul-Qarnain. Say: "I shall recite to you something of his story." 83 We had given him great power in the land and all kinds of resources. 84 So he followed a course. 85 until when he reached the very limits where the sun sets, he saw it setting in dark turbid waters; and nearby he met a people. We said: "O Dhu al-Qarnayn, you have the power to punish or to treat them with kindness." 86 He said: "As for him (a disbeliever in the Oneness of Allah) who does wrong, we shall punish him; and then he will be brought back unto his Lord; Who will punish him with a terrible torment (Hell). 87 but whoever believes and does good works shall have a good reward and We shall facilitate his matter by Our command." 88 Then he followed a road 89 until he reached the limit where the sun rises and he found it rising on a people whom We had provided no shelter from it. 90 Thus indeed it was. We had full knowledge of him. 91 Then he followed still another path, 92 until he came between two mountains. He found beside them a people who could scarcely understand a word [of his language]. 93 They said: O Zul-Qarnain verily Yajuj and Majuj are working corruption in the land; shall we then pay thee tribute on condition that thou place between us and them a barrier! 94 He said: That in which my Lord has established me is better, therefore you only help me with workers, I will make a fortified barrier between you and them; 95 Bring me ingots of iron." Then after he had filled up the space between the two mountain-sides, he said: "(Light a fire) and ply bellows." When he had made it (red like) fire, he said: "Bring me molten copper which I may pour on it." 96 So they [Gog and Magog] were not able to scale it, nor were they able to bore through it, 97 He said: 'This is a mercy from my Lord. But when my Lord's promise is come, He will make it dust. The promise of my Lord is true' 98 ۞ And We will leave them that day surging over each other, and [then] the Horn will be blown, and We will assemble them in [one] assembly. 99 And on that Day We shall place hell, for all to see, before those who denied the truth 100 Those whose eyes had been within a cover [removed] from My remembrance, and they were not able to hear. 101

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
