The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
