He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 you attend to him, 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 And hath fear, 9 You neglect. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 exalted and purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 noble and pious. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Nay, but man did not fulfil what Allah had enjoined upon him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 and olives and palms, 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 his wife and his children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces will shine, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Blackness overcoming them. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
