Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Bring your Book, if what you say is true! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 we are the rangers, 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 Yet now (that it has come) they refuse to believe in it; but they will come to know soon. 170 Our Word had already preceded Our worshipers, the Messengers, 171 That they would be helped, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
