Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the swift scatterers 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 and the smooth runners 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
