The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And accepts the best, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 surely, he shall be satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
