The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers; 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 Who avoid vain talk; 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 And who guard their private parts, 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 And those who fulfil their trusts and keep their promises; 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 then We created of the drop a clot then We created of the clot a tissue then We created of the tissue bones then We garmented the bones in flesh; thereafter We produced him as another creature. So blessed be God, the fairest of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
