The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
