Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 Then covered them with that which covered them. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
