Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
