Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
