Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 Each soul will know what it had sent ahead and what it had left behind. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 Honorable recorders, 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 roasting therein on the Day of Doom, 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
