Have you seen the one who turned away 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
