The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
