The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Yes, indeed, before long they will learn all about it. 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 and the heaven shall be opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
