Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 (Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me, 3 "So He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a stated Term: for when the Term given by Allah is accomplished, it cannot be put forward: if ye only knew." 4 He said: "O my Lord! Verily, I have called my people night and day (i.e. secretly and openly to accept the doctrine of Islamic Monotheism). 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 ‘And He will then take you back to it, and again remove you from it.” 18 And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
