Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
