The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
