The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
