The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
