The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you seen if he was upon guidance 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
