The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 By no means! anon they shall know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
