Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 Also, remember Our worshipers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, those of might and vision. 45 Verily We! We distinguished them with a distinct quality: the remembrance of the Abode. 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 'This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense, 53 (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish; 54 This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 All this; so let them taste it - boiling water and pus, 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 But they will say: 'No, it is you that has no welcome. It was you who brought it upon us, an evil place' 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst? 62 Did we laugh at them (for nothing), or our eyes fail to pick them out?" 63 Such, behold, will in truth be the [confusion and] mutual wrangling of the people of the fire! 64
