Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 The rising dawn, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
