The Romans (Al-Room)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ ALIF LAM MIM. 1 The Romans have been defeated in a nearby land and after this defeat, 2 In the neighbouring land. But having been conquered they will conquer 3 In some few years. Allah's is the command, before and after. And on that day the believers will rejoice. 4 with the help of God. He helps whom He pleases: He is the Mighty, and the Merciful. 5 The promise of Allah; Allah does not renege on His promise, but most people do not know. 6 They know only the outward appearance of the life of the world, and they! of the Hereafter, they are neglecetful. 7 Have they never thought to themselves that Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between except with truth, and for a stated term? Yet most people disbelieve that they will ever meet their Lord. 8 Have they not travelled through the land to see how terrible was the end of the people who lived before them. The people who lived before them were stronger than them in might, in tilling, and in developing the earth. Our Messengers came to them with clear miracles. God did not do an injustice to them but they wronged themselves. 9 The end of the evil-doers was terrible, for they had rejected the revelations of God and mocked them. 10
