The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
