The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
