The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
