He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and that the admonition might profit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 So you are after him! 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 And whereas he fears, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 then makes him to die, and buries him, 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
