Recite unto them the story of Abraham: 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 who created me. It is He who guides me; 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 and whom I am eager shall forgive me my sins on the Day of Recompense' 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 and we have no intercessors now, 100 nor a loving friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
