Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
