People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 As to what they did. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 Therefore celebrate the praise of your Lord, and be of those who make obeisance. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
