Alshu'araa' 10 of 11

The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 and do not deliver short, and do not go about creating mischief in the land, 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they denied him, and We seized them with the torment of the Day of Shadowing (when the cloud had rained down fire). It was indeed the torment of a terrible day! 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
