Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
