Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the day of decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
