46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 While eyes are downcast 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
