And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 And heals me when I am sick, 80 And He Who will cause me to die, then give me life; 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 apart from God? Do they help you or help themselves?' 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 (Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers! 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
