The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the close of night, 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
