The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night enshrouding 1 and the day in splendour 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
