Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then bring your book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 And there were those who said, 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know! 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 and Our armies shall be the victors. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 Watch them: they will soon see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
