The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
