He it is, Who has made the earth subservient to you (i.e. easy for you to walk, to live and to do agriculture on it, etc.), so walk in the path thereof and eat of His provision, and to Him will be the Resurrection. 15 Do you feel secure that He who is in heaven will not cause the earth to swallow you, the while it rocks? 16 Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning. 17 Those who came before them also gave the lie (to the Messengers): then how awesome was My chastisement! 18 Do they not see the birds above them flying wings spread out or folded? Nothing holds them aloft but God. All things are within His purview. 19 Nay, who is there that can help you, (even as) an army, besides (Allah) Most Merciful? In nothing but delusion are the Unbelievers. 20 Who is there to give you food in case He withholds His bounty? Yet they persist in rebellion and aversion. 21 But then, is he that goes along with his face close to the ground better guided than he that walks upright on a straight way? 22 Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “It is He Who created you, and made ears and eyes and hearts for you; very little thanks do you offer!” 23 Say: “Allah it is Who multiplied you in the earth and to Him you will be mustered.” 24 They say: “If you are truthful, tell us when will this promise (of the Hereafter) be fulfilled?” 25 Say: 'The knowledge (of that) is with Allah; I am only a clear warner' 26 When they will see it near at hand, the faces of all those who had denied it will be distraught, and then they will be told: “This is the doom which you used to ask for.” 27 Say: 'What think you? If God destroys me and those with me, or has mercy on us, then who will protect the unbelievers from a painful chastisement?' 28 Say: 'He is the Merciful. In Him we believe and in Him we put all our trust. Indeed, you shall soon know who is in clear error' 29 Say: Have you considered if your water should go down, who is it then that will bring you flowing water? 30
