Thamood, belied their Messengers. 141 When their fellowman Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?” 142 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 143 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 144 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 145 "Will ye be left secure, in (the enjoyment of) all that ye have here? 146 amidst gardens and springs 147 "And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)? 148 and that you will [always be able to] hew dwellings out of the mountains with [the same] great skill?" 149 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 150 and pay no heed to the counsel of those who are given to excesses 151 Who corrupt the land and do not reform it." 152 They said: You are only of the deluded ones; 153 You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful." 154 He said, 'This is a she-camel; to her a draught and to you a draught, on a day appointed, 155 Do not treat her unkindly or the punishment of a grievous day will fall on you." 156 So they hamstrung her, and in the morning could only regret. 157 But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 158 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
