In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. 1 A Book revealed to you-- so let there be no straitness in your breast on account of it-- that you may warn thereby, and a reminder close to the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 How many a village have We laid in ruin! In the night Our Might fell upon it, or at midday when they were drowsy. 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 We will certainly question the people and the Messengers sent to them. 6 We will tell them with absolute certainty (what they had done) for We had never been absent from them (during their lifetime). 7 And on that Day, the weighing will truly be done; so those whose scales prove heavy are the successful. 8 whereas those whose weight is light in the balance - it is they who will have squandered their own selves by their wilful rejection of Our messages. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
