Al-A 'araaf 13 of 24
Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth in succession from its (previous) possessors, that had We willed, We would have punished them for their sins. And We seal up their hearts so that they hear not? 100 Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith. 101 We did not find the covenant upheld by the majority of them, but We found most of them evildoers. 102 AND AFTER those [early people] We sent Moses with Our messages unto Pharaoh and his great ones, and they wilfully rejected them: and behold what happened in the end to those spreaders of corruption! 103 Moses said: O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 104 duty-bound to say nothing about God but the truth, and I have brought you a clear sign from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with me." 105 He said: If you have come with a sign, then bring it, if you are of the truthful ones. 106 So he threw his rod, then lo! it was a clear serpent. 107 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. 108
