O believers, obey God and His Messenger, and do not turn away from Him, even as you are listening; 20 Nor be like those who say, "We hear," but listen not: 21 ۞ Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason. 22 And if Allah had known any good in them He would have made them hear, and if He makes them hear they would turn back while they withdraw. 23 Believers! Respond to Allah, and respond to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. Know well that Allah stands between a man and his heart, and it is to Him that all of you shall be mustered. 24 Beware of sedition, which does not affect the oppressors alone among you, and know that the punishment of God is severe. 25 And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might abduct you, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things - that you might be grateful. 26 Believers, do not betray Allah and the Messenger, nor knowingly betray your trust. 27 and know that your wealth and your children are a trial, and that with God is a mighty wage. 28
