The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Alif Lam Mim. 1 That is the Book, wherein is no doubt, a guidance to the godfearing 2 Who believe in the unseen and establish the (daily) prayer; who spend out of what We have provided them. 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 those are upon guidance from their Lord, those are the ones who prosper. 5 As for the unbelievers, alike it is to them whether thou hast warned them or hast not warned them, they do not believe. 6 Allah has sealed up their hearts and ears and a covering has fallen over their eyes, and they have incurred the severest punishment. 7
