And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "O my Lord! Make this city (Makkah) one of peace and security, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping idols. 35 My Lord they have led many people astray. Whosoever follows me belongs to me. Whosoever rebels against me, You are surely Forgiving, the Most Merciful. 36 Our Lord! Verily I have caused some of my progeny to dwell in a valley uncultivable near Thy Sacred House, Our Lord! in order that they may establish prayer; make Thou therefore the hearts of some of mankind to yearn toward them, and provide them Thou with fruits, haply they may give thanks. 37 Our Lord, indeed You know what we conceal and what we declare, and nothing is hidden from Allah on the earth or in the heaven. 38 "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has given me in old age Isma'il (Ishmael) and Ishaque (Isaac). Verily! My Lord is indeed the All-Hearer of invocations. 39 Grant, O Lord, that I and my offspring may remain constant in devotion. Grant, O Lord, my supplication. 40 O Lord, forgive me, my parents and the faithful on the Day the reckoning is done." 41
