And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a Day when eyes will stare [in horror]. 42 when they shall run with necks outstretched and heads erect, their glances never returned on themselves, their hearts void. 43 And warn the people of a day when the punishment will come upon them, therefore the unjust will say, “O our Lord! Give us respite for a little while – for us to obey Your call and follow the Noble Messengers”; (It will be said) “So had you not sworn before that, ‘We have not to move to any place else from the earth’?” 44 You said so even though you had lived in the dwellings of those who had wronged themselves (by sinning), and you were aware how We dealt with them, and We had even explained to you all this by giving examples. 45 They devised their devising, and their devising is known to God; though their devising were such as to remove mountains.' 46 Therefore do not think Allah (to be one) failing in His promise to His apostles; surely Allah is Mighty, the Lord of Retribution. 47 On the Day whereon the earth will be changed into other than the earth, and the heavens also; and all creatures will appear unto Allah, the One, the Subduer. 48 And thou wilt see the sinners that day bound together in fetters;- 49 Their cloaks will be of pitch and fire will cover their faces. 50 That Allah may requite each person according to what he has earned. Truly, Allah is Swift at reckoning. 51 This is a message for mankind. Let them take warning from it and know that He is but one God. Let those possessed of understanding may take heed. 52
